Performance Evidence
Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:caring of casualty involving:burns, scalds and frostbiteexternal and internal bleedingfractures, dislocations and muscular injurieshead and spinal injuriesinjuries of ear, nose, throat and eyeswounds, wound healing and infectioncompleting documents, including:casualty history formsfirst aid risk assessmentincident/injury reportsinfection control recordsmanagement recordsmedical historiesmedication registers dealing with a death at seadressing and bandaginggiving vaccinations or other injectionsmanaging acute abdominal conditionspreparing for evacuation, including:communicating with helicopter, vessel or ambulance conducting the evacuationrelevant medical and first aid supplies and resourcesselecting relevant communication equipmentproviding:dental caregynaecological, pregnancy and childbirth supportmedical care of rescued personsminor surgical treatmentpain relieftreating:alcohol and drug abusesexually transmitted diseasestropical and infectious diseasesusing disease prevention techniques, including disinfection, de-infestation and de-rattingusing suturing and clamping techniquesusing company policies. |
Knowledge Evidence
